1. The Offer
For each 1 SOMA alpha accepted into the Program and maintained in accordance with these Terms for 365 continuous days, the participant will receive a reward of 0.50 SOMA alpha.
The reward will be delivered entirely as unlocked SOMA alpha after successful completion of the 365-day Commitment Period.
Important
The reward is calculated exclusively in SOMA alpha units. It is not a promise of any return measured in TAO, USD or any other currency.
2. Participation Window
The Participation Window opens at Finney block (around 7 August 2026 at 11:00:00 UTC):
8,791,981This Start Block is fixed and binding.
The Participation Window closes on:
6 September 2026 at 11:00:00 UTCThe End Time is binding and takes precedence over any projected block number.
The projected End Boundary Block is:
9,007,905Because actual block intervals may vary, this projected block number may change.
The actual End Boundary Block will be the first finalized Finney block whose on-chain timestamp is 6 September 2026 at 11:00:00 UTC or later. That block and every later block are excluded.
A transaction qualifies only if it is included:
- in Start Block
8,791,981or a later finalized block; and - in a finalized block whose on-chain timestamp is earlier than 6 September 2026 at 11:00:00 UTC.
3. How to Participate
Use This Exact Target Owner Hotkey
5H1nRfbCbDGh3t17er9Y8hwFEsXCrjBbaN6jLrnez8KpUKjuWarning
Do not use the Subnet Owner Coldkey as the target. The lock_stake transaction must point to the Target Owner Hotkey shown above.
Participation Steps
-
Hold sufficient staked SOMA alpha on subnet 114.
-
Enable perpetual lock mode for the participating coldkey on subnet 114.
-
Confirm that perpetual mode is enabled.
-
Submit
SubtensorModule.lock_stakewith:netuid:114hotkey:5H1nRfbCbDGh3t17er9Y8hwFEsXCrjBbaN6jLrnez8KpUKjuamount: the amount of SOMA alpha to enter into the Program
-
Confirm that the finalized transaction produced the matching
StakeLockedevent.
Perpetual mode must already be enabled when lock_stake is executed. Enabling perpetual mode only after the lock_stake call does not make that earlier lock eligible.
Qualifying Lock Requirements
A lock is recognized as a Qualifying Lock only when all of the following are true:
- a finalized
StakeLockedevent is recorded in theApplyExtrinsicphase; - the decoded call tree of that extrinsic contains an executed
SubtensorModule.lock_stakecall; - the
StakeLockedevent is directly attributable to that successfully executedSubtensorModule.lock_stakecall; - the call’s effective origin and its
hotkey,netuidandamountparameters exactly match the corresponding event fields; - the
coldkeyin the event is the participating coldkey; - the
hotkeyin the event is the exact Target Owner Hotkey; - the
netuidin the event is114; - the event records a positive alpha amount; and
- perpetual mode is enabled for that coldkey and subnet when the call executes.
The lock_stake call may be submitted directly or through a standard on-chain wrapper, such as a batch, proxy or multisig, provided that:
- the underlying
SubtensorModule.lock_stakecall is successfully executed; and - the matching finalized event is recorded.
The amount recorded in the qualifying StakeLocked event is the only amount considered for entry into the Program. The participant’s total lock balance is not automatically accepted.
Actions That Do Not Qualify
The following do not qualify:
- alpha locked before the Participation Window;
- locked alpha received through
transfer_stakeortransfer_stake_and_hotkey; - an existing lock moved through
move_lock; - locks moved through a coldkey or hotkey swap;
- merely changing an existing lock from decaying to perpetual;
- staking emissions or dividends;
- Program rewards;
- migrations or administrative state changes; and
- alpha locked after the Binding End Time.
Each qualifying StakeLocked event is treated as a separate participation Lot.
The Qualifying Lock Time of a Lot is the on-chain timestamp of the finalized block containing its qualifying StakeLocked event. The 365-day Commitment Period begins at that time.
4. Allocation of the Program Cap
Lots are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis according to:
- finalized block number;
- extrinsic index within that block;
- event index within that extrinsic.
When the total Accepted Alpha reaches 100,000 SOMA alpha, the Program is full.
If a Lot would exceed the remaining capacity, only the portion fitting within the cap is accepted. The remaining portion receives no Program reward.
The Organizer will publish an Accepted Lots Register containing:
- each participating coldkey;
- transaction reference;
- Qualifying Lock Time;
- Accepted Amount; and
- Commitment End Time.
The Commitment End Time for each Lot is exactly:
31,536,000 secondsafter its Qualifying Lock Time.
Capacity released by a later disqualification will not reopen and will not be assigned to another participant.
5. Commitment Period
Each accepted Lot must satisfy the Program conditions continuously for exactly:
31,536,000 secondsThis is equivalent to 365 days.
Completion is verified against the first finalized Finney block whose on-chain timestamp is equal to or later than the Lot’s Commitment End Time.
Requirements During the Commitment Period
During the entire 365-day Commitment Period, the participating coldkey must:
- remain continuously in perpetual lock mode on subnet 114;
- keep its lock directed to the Target Owner Hotkey; and
- maintain sufficient locked mass to cover its Pre-Program Locked Mass and all accepted Lots whose Commitment Periods have not yet ended.
Pre-Program Locked Mass means the finalized locked mass recorded immediately before that coldkey’s first Qualifying Lock.
Disqualification Conditions
Any transition away from perpetual mode, even temporarily or within the same block, permanently disqualifies every Lot belonging to that coldkey whose Commitment Period has not yet ended.
Re-enabling perpetual mode later does not restore eligibility.
A redundant call that leaves the lock in perpetual mode without any transition away from perpetual mode is not treated as a mode change.
Moving the lock away from the Target Owner Hotkey during the Commitment Period permanently disqualifies every active Lot belonging to that coldkey.
A reduction of locked mass permanently reduces the eligible amount by the same quantity.
Reductions are:
- applied to the newest active Lots first; and
- not curable by adding alpha again later.
Once a Lot has successfully completed its full Commitment Period, later changes to the lock do not invalidate the reward earned for that completed Lot.
Such changes may still disqualify other Lots on the same coldkey whose Commitment Periods remain active.
6. Reward Calculation and Payment
For each completed Lot:
Final Reward = Final Eligible Amount × 0.50
Within 240 hours after successful completion of the Lot’s Commitment Period, the Organizer will transfer an unlocked reward equal to:
Final Eligible Amount × 0.50The reward will be transferred to the participating coldkey as SN114 alpha and will not be added to the participant’s lock.
Rewards are rounded down to the smallest on-chain alpha unit.
The Organizer pays transaction fees related to reward distribution. Participants pay fees associated with joining or maintaining the Program.
7. Authoritative Records
Finalized Finney on-chain records are authoritative.
The following do not override finalized chain state:
- pending transactions;
- wallet estimates;
- screenshots;
- block forecasts; and
- third-party indexers.
In the event of any inconsistency, the following order of precedence applies:
- the formulas and numbered provisions of these Terms;
- the Program Summary;
- other materials published by the Organizer;
- social-media posts, graphics and translations.
The English version of these Terms controls.
8. Risks and Participant Responsibility
The participant retains ownership of the locked principal. Locking alpha does not transfer the principal to the Organizer.
Locking restricts liquidity and directs conviction to the Target Owner Hotkey. This conviction may affect control and ownership of subnet 114.
SOMA alpha may lose some or all of its value measured in TAO, USD or another currency. A reward of 50% in alpha does not guarantee a profit in TAO or fiat terms.
Protocol parameters, transfer functionality, lock behavior and unlocking speed may change through:
- network governance; or
- changes to the Subtensor runtime.
Normal staking emissions and dividends are separate from this Program and are not guaranteed by the Organizer.
Participants are responsible for:
- safeguarding their keys;
- verifying the subnet;
- verifying the coldkey;
- verifying the Target Owner Hotkey;
- verifying the amount; and
- confirming the finalized transaction result.
Transactions sent to an incorrect subnet or hotkey do not qualify.
9. Protocol Changes and Amendments
Before Start Block 8,791,981, the Organizer may publish a replacement version of these Terms.
After Start Block 8,791,981, the Organizer may amend these Terms only if a material change to SOMA subnet ownership, Bittensor or the mechanisms implemented in the Subtensor code or runtime makes it impossible or materially impracticable to continue the Program under its existing technical rules.
In such circumstances, the Organizer will use all reasonable efforts to reproduce the Program as closely as technically possible under the new conditions.
Principles to Be Preserved
The Organizer will seek to preserve, to the greatest extent reasonably possible:
- the Program’s economic purpose;
- already accepted participation amounts;
- the 365-day Commitment Period;
- the reward rate of 0.50 SOMA alpha per 1 accepted SOMA alpha;
- payment of the entire reward as unlocked SOMA alpha; and
- rights already earned by participants.
If exact continuation is technically impossible, the Organizer may introduce the closest reasonably available verification, lock or reward-delivery mechanism that preserves the Program’s original purpose and economic effect.
Amendment Requirements
Any amendment must:
- be limited to what is reasonably necessary to address the protocol change;
- explain the relevant Bittensor or Subtensor change;
- explain how participation, verification or reward delivery is affected;
- state its publication time and effective time; and
- remain publicly archived together with all earlier versions.
This amendment right may not be used to avoid Program obligations while the original mechanism remains technically available.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, in exceptional or unforeseen circumstances not expressly covered by these Terms, the Organizer may reasonably adjust the Program mechanism solely for the benefit of participants, provided that the adjustment:
- does not reduce, delay or otherwise adversely affect any accepted or earned entitlement; and
- is applied consistently to all similarly situated participants.
Social-media posts, informal statements and unpublished communications do not amend these Terms.
